TAX Evasion case to Napoles Couples

On Thursday morning, Bureau of Internal Revenue(BIR) filed Tax evasion against Janet Lim Napoles and her husband Jaime Napoles for around P61 million in tax liabilities. This was recommended by BIR Commissioner Kim Henares for their willful attempt to evade the payment of taxes for taxable years 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Janet Napoles and her husband failed to submit correct and accurate information in their Income Tax Return(ITR) for the said years.

"This case is only in relation to properties that are in their names, Janet Lim Napoles and Jaime garcia Napoles. The amount is just what we have as of now, it can keep on growing but with this amount, there is already tax evasion committed. The amount in comparison to all the amount that has been talked about in the scam is not that big, Total liability we are going after Janet Napoles as of today is P44.68 M. Against Jaime Napoles, it's P16.43 M for her husband." Henares stated.
